1. Learn empathy
You can certainly gain a lot for your social life just by learning empathy. Empathy is all about seeing and feeling things from the perspective of another person. If you find that one of your social challenges is talking to people, be curious instead on how things are from their end, to help you open a meaningful conversation. Before you know it, you’ll be more comfortable engaging more people in some honest to goodness talk.

You would be surprised how much your life can change if you decide to give yourself a new look. People are attracted to each other, and visual perception plays a huge role in making successful connections. Looks are not everything, but make-overs are known to provide a lot of confidence in people, as others perceive them more positively. While you’re at it, also make fresh changes in your environment, too. Clean your room and your car, because these are extensions of your identity as well.
3. Join a club
It may cause you a bit of discomfort, but you will hugely improve your social life by joining a club whose members have a common interest with you. It really doesn’t have to be a huge organization. If you’re into music, you can join a band. You can also join the informal chess club at the park. You can even start fishing on the pier and get to know the regulars there.
