Youth focus: Giving motivational speeches to children

It’s been said many times before by psychologists, educators, doctors, and parents: children are like sponges. They absorb almost everything they’re exposed to, and this changes and molds them. Childhood is an incredibly formative time and parents should take advantage of this.
On that note, here are some advantages in allowing your children to listen to motivational speeches.

Positivity and development
Children have a great affinity for anything positive, especially if they are rewarded for it. If any child could rank their top moments in a day, getting mommy and daddy’s approval and encouragement would be number one. And these are just one-liners. Imagine the effect a talk would have (provided you can keep their attention).

Idols and role models
While the first role models children have will always be mommy and daddy, they will quickly have a few from the books that they read or are read to them and the shows they watch on television. Motivational speeches make children believe they can be just like their role models, as long as they work hard for it.

Values and lessons
Motivational speeches have a way of instilling and reinforcing the best values in a person. For children this could be the aforementioned hard work, or the fortification of the belief in themselves, or perhaps even the good that can be found in helping others.
