Looking beyond black and white: Marc Accetta on living one’s life in full colors

People choose to categorize others with prejudice because it’s convenient for them. Marc Accetta however, does not share this notion. The successful public speaker and life coach believes that there is more to life than just categories. For him, people are filled with vibrant colors that can make life more interesting and dynamic.

From Marc Accetta

Learning to live life in full colors

There is more to this world than just the colors black and white. There are gray areas, for example, where people need to wander to at times when they feel doubtful. Forgetting to see life’s full display of colors is like failing to witness the beauty of a rainbow after an unsettling storm. The adversities are experienced but the sweetness offered afterwards is never tasted. But how can people really live life in full colors?

From Marc Accetta

Marc Accetta’s instructional program called Living in Full Colors was rooted in this very idea. Living in Full Colors suggests that people can be classified in different colors - blue, red, yellow, and green - and each one of them represents a different sense of lifestyle. With the use of the instructional program, people will learn how they function in society and how they can improve in order to harmoniously coexist with others. The program was carefully crafted by Accetta to enlighten those who are looking at life in a dull light.

Viewing from the edge with Marc Accetta: Provide yourself with a new perspective on life

From Marc Accetta

Life can be extremely troublesome at times that people seem to easily lose hope and succumb to fear. Marc Acceta, the renowned public speaker, has a different standpoint. The problems people face should not necessarily drive them to look away and escape. Sometimes people just need to look upon things on a different perspective. Up to now, Marc continues to change lives through this perspective.

Edutainment—this is the tool that Marc uses in order to share his profound thoughts to his listeners. He speaks with humor and wit to easily connect with the people he talks to. By using entertainment to educate, he can convey his message in a manner that captivates his listeners. He keeps the audience engaged through light conversation—a strong testament to how he views life at a different perspective as he discusses heavy life matters in a very light pace.

From Marc Accetta 2

Marc Accetta himself also felt absolutely undetermined at one point of his life. Back in 1982, right after he graduated college with a degree in Political Science, he was not decided as to which path his life would steer to. Following his heart and guts, he tried and ventured in the world of sales. With a mix of perseverance and determination, Marc started to reap success. He began teaching others what he learned from his experiences from the world of sales and from life in general as well.

Marc Accetta: Experience propels personal progress

From Marc Accetta

Marc Accetta is famous for his unique approach in motivating people to excel in their crafts. He employs wit and humor in his trainings and couples them with exquisite stage artistry. However, he was not born possessing this unique gift in communicating with others. He was shy and insecure back when he was a child. But as he matured, he became the person he is today - confident, strong-willed, and successful.

Born and raised in Newton, New Jersey, Marc never thought that one day his job would include standing in front of a large crowd talking about personal development. But his gains from his professional experiences propelled him to do so despite having low esteem when he was younger.

Educated with a degree in Political Science from the Seton Hall University, Marc Accetta never dreamed that he will end up in the sales and marketing industry. His interest though in the field helped him achieve the career development he never expected will cross his way. He learned a lot of things, from direct selling to almost every sales-related business he was involved with. He also successfully penetrated the recruitment and management industries and gained a lot of recognitions for his accomplishments.

From Marc Accetta

Upon success, he ventured into teaching and training. He became a motivational coach to a lot of business enthusiasts who also want to attain the degree of success he has achieved, though not necessarily in the same field. He became a mentor for various professionals and used “edutainment” as his principal tool for teaching. Marc Accetta’s method, by means of performance skits, has been proven effective and has won the trust of his clients. Currently, he is the director of training for the Internet-based travel company, WorldVentures.

Marc is happily married to supportive wife Kelly, who is active in socio-civic activities. He and Kelly also became members of the famous Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance the potential of the youth.

One against Three: Marc Accetta on the Power of One in Dirk Nowitzki

Motivational speaker Marc Accetta talks about Dallas Mavericks Center Dirk Nowitzki in the 41st episode of the Power of One Show. According to Marc, the accomplished NBA player should be admired for how he has proven that the Power of One can achieve triumph amidst numerous competitions.

From Jul 6, 2011

Nowitzki started his NBA career in 1998 as a 9th overall pick for the Milwaukee Bucks. The same year, he was traded to Dallas where he has played the rest of his career. During his years in the NBA, he has been included in the All-star team 10 times.

But despite Nowitzki’s achievements, fans and pundits had always talked about the one thing missing in his illustrious career and whether he can manage to get it: an NBA championship. Marc Accetta reflects on how Nowitzki managed to get through all obstacles and achieve one of the most sought-after accomplishments every NBA superstar dreams of. “It’s amazing how many of the ‘experts’ were saying he’s soft, not a true leader, and does not have a winning spirit,” says Marc.

From Jul 6, 2011

In the lead to their champion match against the Miami Heat, the multitude of NBA fans and pundits are not expecting the Dallas Mavericks to reach up to that certain point, so much more to beat the team with the “Big Three” in their lineup. Nowitzki proved them wrong, carrying the Mavericks to a 4-2 lead against the Heat en route to winning the franchise’s first NBA championship.

From Jul 6, 2011

“Don’t feel because you’re on your own you can’t win. Don’t look at other companies that have superstar lineups,” Marc says, adding that Dirk “was focused on what he can do” and not on what the opponents can.

At the end of his lecture, Marc Accetta dares, “You got to win. Take your company; take your challenge; Put them on your shoulders; put your head down and win. You’d be amazed at what people will be saying about you. Your attitude could be infectious.”

Of Love and Honor: Marc Accetta Salutes Heroes on Memorial Day

From Marc Accetta

In Memory of our Honored Dead

On May 30, 2011, famed motivational speaker Marc Accetta celebrated with the rest of the American community to commemorate the annual Memorial Day. It is a very important event in the country, one that could be traced back to 1865 when the first Star Spangled Banner was unfurled to show appreciation for the Martyrs of the Race Course.

Memorial Day: A History

Freedman founded the event on May 1, 1865 when freed African American slaves decorated the graves of fallen heroes from the civil war with American flags in Charleston, South Carolina. It was then called as “Decoration Day” for obvious reasons. Yet as the years passed and more and more conflicts called for American men to bear arms, the affair took an all-encompassing meaning, giving Americans the chance to salute the fallen who gave the country its freedom.

From Marc Accetta

Marc Acceta says, “Freedom is not free. Someone has to pay for that.” Indeed, many servicemen and servicewomen from the Armed Forces of the United Sates: the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and the Air Force, have laid down their lives so that civilians can enjoy the very blanket of freedom they provide. Marc emphasizes how these soldiers gave up their lives for something bigger than themselves: the freedom of their country, and the security it would bring to their fellowmen.

In celebration of Memorial Day, Accetta released a podcast that applauds the efforts of the soldiers who lost their lives in service to the country. He ends the podcast with, “A group of individuals who believe in one common goal can do remarkable things. As a matter of fact, they could set the world free.”

Why Marc Accetta's "Edutainment" Is Effective

Marc Accetta is not just a motivational speaker, he is also an entertainer – he fuses both characteristics through his unique way of conducting live seminars, which has become known among his followers as “edutainment.” Through this technique, he is able to effectively engage his audience, enabling him to get his message across in a manner not easily forgotten. Most of the people who have attended his seminars often comment that he radiates sincerity and is able to establish a connection with every single member of the audience – an impressive feat, especially since most of his seminars are attended by thousands of people.

From Marc Accetta 2

Marc Accetta portrays characters from different walks of life with the goal of making his audience understand that there are many different ways to achieve personal success, regardless of age, occupation, or social stature. A far cry from the conventional way of conducting seminars wherein the speaker simply speaks in front of his audience, droning on and on about his message, this technique is proven effective as he enables his audience to remember the lessons by providing them with audio-visual markers. Through edutainment, Marc is able to capture his audience’s interest, entertain them (he goes all out with his costumes, props, lighting and stage design, adding to the allure of his technique), and deliver valuable life lessons to remember.

Marc Accetta, the British Phone Booth and the “Who Moved my Cheese” Book

One of Marc Accetta’s daughters urged him to take a picture inside the famous red British phone booth during his first trip to London. He found it odd that he had difficulty finding one, finally spotting only several of these located near the Parliament. Now that almost everyone in the world uses mobile phones, who needs pay phones? Because of change, the pay phone that used to be a staple in cities is now replaced by pocket-sized mobile phones. Who knows that in the future, these little phones that we carry today will become obsolete and be replaced by a more high-tech gadget.

From Marc Accetta

This was pondered upon by Marc Accetta during his search for the phone booth. He came to think about change and how many people try to resist it. As a well-known speaker and life coach, Marc supports the fact that change is the only thing constant in this world and believes that not having the willingness to adapt to change is a fundamental problem. To be able to get ahead of everybody else and succeed, one has to understand that change is a natural part of life.

From Marc Accetta

For those having difficulty accepting change, Marc encourages reading the book “Who Moved my Cheese? An Amazing way to Deal with Change in your Work and in your Life” written by Spencer Johnson. It is a great read not only for adults but also for children since the book is written in the style of a parable, following the journey of two mice and two “little people” in search of cheese.

From Marc Accetta

Living up to the motto “We Create Champions,” Marc Accetta, founder of Marc Accetta Seminars and Director of Training for WorldVentures, gives back and pays it forward to the American youth through the Unstoppable Foundation.

Having lived a blessed and successful life, Marc was encouraged by his wife Kelly to participate and contribute to the cause of the Big Brother Big Sister (BBBS) foundation, the oldest and largest mentoring organization in the country. The foundation aims to provide children with positive relationships that would instill positive traits in them and develop their confidence. The organization's cause has shown positive effects in helping keep the youth in school and away from substance addiction.

From Marc Accetta

Through the foundation, Marc Accetta and his wife took in to their care a boy named William who lost his father to a heart attack at a very young age. The couple has been recognized for their contributions to BBBS that they are now members of the local BBBS Board of Directors at Colin County, TX.

From Marc Accetta

Inspired by their experience with BBBS, the couple established their own organization called the “Unstoppable Foundation.” The foundation desires to equip the youth with fundamental lessons, including money management, character building, and self-confidence to help them realize their dreams.

Marc explains, “We're hoping our schools are teaching these things, but really they're focusing on the book education of our children. And in some of the homes in America, these things are not being taught; parents are not realizing it's their responsibility.”

People: The Zappos Core Element Explained by Marc Accetta

It was during a business and personal development training seminar that Marc Accetta first encountered Tony Hsieh, one of the most highly-regarded online marketing experts worldwide.

From Marc Accetta

Tony Hsieh is the CEO of Zappos, an online clothing and accessory store. Hsieh confessed to Accetta that he was concerned when Amazon showed interest in acquiring Zappos. Besides the company’s sentimental value, Zappos was built through hard work and key values that have been fundamental to the company’s success. These key values are known as The 10 Core Components of Zappos Culture - the guiding force behind every Zappos employee and the basis of every decision made by the company.

From Marc Accetta

The Zappos’ culture emphasizes on one core element: The People. Marc Accetta observes that the culture is built on the company’s high regard for every single member of the Zappos workforce – from executive management down to each and every employee.

Chip Conley’s book “Peak,” is one of Hsieh’s greatest influences. The book was inspired by Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of human needs, which Hsieh had narrowed down to three parts: a job, a career, and a calling. The three parts have served as Hsieh’s guide in focusing on the talents his employees possess and keeping them true to their calling.

After Amazon acquired the company in 2009, Tony continued running Zappos as CEO, making sure that the 10 Core Components are upheld and that the people never lose sight of their calling.

Marc Accetta Shares His Blessings By Playing Big Brother

From Marc Accetta

Marc Accetta has been blessed in life, with a successful career as a globally acclaimed motivational speaker, and a loving, supportive family. As a way of giving back and sharing his life’s blessings to those who need it, he and his wife Kelly are involved in the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps children reach their full potential through one-to-one relationships with mentors that aim to have a positive impact on youth.

Marc’s “little brother” is William Timmerman, one of the five children in the Timmerman household. In 2001, William lost his father – his heart suddenly stopped. Mr. Timmerman was revived, but died eleven days later due to an irreparable damage to his heart caused by a recent bout with the flu virus. Marc Accetta, together with this family, helped him get over his grief and get his life back on track.

From Marc Accetta

Before the Accetta family came along and shortly after his father’s death, William and his siblings felt neglected because their mother had to work long hours to make both ends meet. William started suffering from anxiety attacks, and became withdrawn and quiet. He even had an imaginary friend named Fred. Thankfully, with the organization’s help, Marc’s positive influence, and the love and support from the Accetta family, William grew with confidence and self-assurance.

Details on Marc Accetta’s involvement in the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation can found at www.marcaccetta.com.
