The second week of October was a magical one for the people at Big Brothers-Big Sisters (BBBS), World Ventures, and of course, for me, the Director of Training for WorldVentures. My wife Kelly and I are the co-chairs for the Collin County Board of BBBS. As I conducted my annual A View From The Edge training in Dallas for WorldVentures, the company auctioned off several items to raise money for BBBS. Top WorldVentures income earner, Dave Watson, acted as the auctioneer and local CEO for BBBS, Charles Pierson provided several auction items.
The items included a dinner for 12 with NFL great Dion Sanders and courtside tickets to a Dallas Mavericks game. The crowd not only bit furiously on those items, but they also started offering items of their own to the auction. The items they offered included 50 Yard line seats to Brett Favre for a Vikings game, and some autographed memorabilia, including a pink guitar signed by Miley Cyrus.
It was such a wonderful time. And when the smoke had cleared, we had raised over $100,000! Needless to say, Mr. Pierson and all the execs from BBBS were overwhelmed. To top it off, WorldVentures co-founders Mike Azcue and Wayne Nugent added a vacation to one of the most exotic resorts in the world (worth over $10,000) to the spoils so BBBS can auction it off at their annual Black Tie and Boots Ball in November.
With all the monies collected at The View, Marc Accetta and WorldVentures have totaled well over $250,000 raised for BBBS over the two few years. WorldVentures is clearly living up to their slogan, “Making a Living…Giving”.
