Unleashing life and taking it for a ride

Is your life too boring for you? Do you, like countless others, wake up at 7 a.m. every day, eat breakfast, go to work for 8 to 9 hours, and then go home and sleep just so you could do the same thing over and over again for the next 30 to 40 years of your life?

Your life is like clockwork, existing just for the sake of one thing—working and earning your way to retirement. You meet Moe, your friend from work. You see him beaming, and he always has stories about his life that make yours feel like a somber, boring lecture. You wonder why his life is so different from yours when you are both working as pencil pushers in a boring accounting firm.

This is because Moe has done something you haven’t: He unleashed his life

Unlike you, Moe bikes to work so he can exercise, plays video games for a couple of hours each day with his kids to relieve stress, helps out at the homeless shelter on weekends, takes out his wife for dinner and a movie on a regular basis, goes hunting with his like-minded buddies every month, and takes his family for an out-of-country trip every year.

Unlike you, Moe knows that life is fleeting, so for every moment that passes by, he creates memories that will last him a lifetime. Life coaches, like Marc Accetta, know that by unleashing your life, you stop being just a spectator of your own life and start being the bull rider who takes it for a ride.

Personalities—they come in fours

After psychologists first tried to draft crude versions of personality tests back in the 1920s, the practice of using standardized instruments to reveal aspects of an individual’s psychological makeup has since then become the norm. This gave rise to a plethora of tests that aim to unveil several aspects of one’s personality.

Considering the innumerable idiosyncrasies of each person that have lived, are living, and will still live on Earth, the very idea that all of these may be compartmentalized in a limited personality test of sorts seems daft at the very least. However, this simplification has paved the way for countless of individuals to straightforwardly discover their natural propensities, helping them understand themselves better and communicate with other people more effectively.

On a tangential note, four quadrant personality tests are very common. This practice goes back as far as 340 BC, with Plato developing the concept of the four basic personality types. He called the groups choleric, sanguine, phlegmatic, and melancholy.

Since then, a number of people have developed their own version of Plato’s four-quadrant personality groups. David Keirsey’s Temperament Sorter is widely used in schools and workplaces to assess individual, teamwork, and organizational analyses. The DISC test" is most commonly used by Fortune 500 companies in determining the impact of dominance, influence, steadiness, and compliance factors in predicting personal behavior towards others. Marc Accetta’s personality test is also popular among aspiring speakers who want to improve their communication skills by leveraging the strengths of their respective personalities.

Although individuals can use these personality types as a model for their actions and decisions, they must not restrict themselves to act only within the confines of their purported personalities. On the contrary, they must seek to expand their horizons—further reinforcing their strengths and constantly improving on their weaknesses.

Marc Accetta: Out of the ordinary comes a renowned life coach

"Winning isn't everything, but making the effort to win is."— Vince Lombardi

Marc Accetta Image Credit: marcaccetta.com

Renowned life coach and public speaker Marc Accetta did not make a name for himself overnight. Before he started “edutaining” his listeners and gaining recognition for his work, Mr. Accetta was initially a student of what he currently teaches. “I did not grow up with a high level of self-confidence or self-esteem,” he confessed.

Marc Accetta Image Credit: ellengable.files.wordpress.com

Guided by the words of Lombardi, he used his burning desire to better himself by putting it into action. He started developing his skills and improving his knowledge by reading books, learning from the people he met, and attending seminars. His efforts yielded brimming results not just for himself, but also for the people he encountered and helped. He ultimately developed a love for sharing the things he learned. “I realized that achieving success in my own life was not enough for me,” Marc Accetta added.

Today, one of his greatest joys is teaching others and knowing that he makes a great impact on their lives. He travels far and wide to talk to thousands of people through big training events. For this, he truly is a winner in his own rights.

Be an abundance thinker: Marc Accetta on getting rid of the scarcity mentality

For a long time, people have been asking one important question: what is the key to a prosperous life? For motivational speaker Marc Accetta, it is living a life that is driven by the will to share your blessings to others.

Marc Accetta Image Credit: Otisfundraisingideas.com

In one of the episodes of The Power of One, Mr. Accetta discussed the difference between being an abundance thinker and having a scarcity mentality. He says that people with scarcity mentality are “very self-centered and greedy” or “don’t believe that there are going to be enough for [them].” Mr. Accetta himself admits that he had this mentality for a while. “That’s the way I was for years,” the life coach reveals. Even though he was taught to share his blessings with other people, Marc Accetta found it a challenge to get rid of such mentality.

Marc Accetta Image Credit: Salesbenchmarkindex.com

But he reminds his listeners that having this kind of thinking will not improve their lives. For him, what people should develop is abundance mentality -- always thinking of having enough resources to give part of it to other people or to the church.

Mr. Accetta believes that when people share their wealth to others, it is like saying “I believe that there’s a lot more coming in.” This, for him, is the right attitude in life.

Marc Accetta Image Credit: Thegreatnessmind.com

“Ever since I started thinking that way, things changed dramatically in my life,” Marc shares, adding that he also believes that everything a person gives comes back to him tenfold.

Marc Accetta: Breaking through mediocrity

Marc Accetta photo credit: achievemarketleadership.com

Many people live mediocre lives. Problem is, they just don’t know it. But if you’re tired of being on the fringes and want to challenge yourself, then highly respected Marc Accetta can help in breaking that cycle of mediocrity in a person and achieve their fullest potential.

Getting out of the mediocrity trap

People who want to succeed will set goals and achieve those goals, and failure is just another step on their road to success. But people who are trapped in a life of mediocrity cannot adjust to the possibility of ever failing. According to Donald Latuhamina, people that encounter failure just sink back to the life they know, even if it is nothing more than a pale shell of what they can achieve.

Marc Accetta photo credit: blogidbs

Respected life coach and trainer Marc Accetta attests that the problem of people trapped in mediocrity lies in a constant fear of failing. With his Breakthrough seminars, Marc helps people see their true potential, and not only to achieve their goals, but to actually prevail in their new environment. Marc is able to present all of these life changing steps in an easily understood yet powerful format, using “edutainment” (education and entertainment) and individualized messages to keep his audiences riveted throughout the entire seminar.

Marc Accetta: Reinventing the art of life coaching

From Marc Accetta

Seasoned life coach Marc Accetta is not the usual lecturer that everybody would think of—a man in a tuxedo, speaking on the stage behind a podium, with some reading materials in his hands. He’s no ordinary mentor, so to speak, having been blessed with the ability to educate and entertain his audience in many ways.

Using his skills in “edutainment,” Marc is able to entertain even the most knowledgeable members of the crowd and educate the greenhorns at the same time, without sending the former to boredom or the latter to confusion. He uses stage spectacle to invite attention and intelligent analogies to produce insights, helping people from all walks of life develop self-discipline, hone their capabilities, and succeed in their career.

From Marc Accetta

As a trusted educator with abilities that transcend many borders, Marc Accetta has successfully made a name for himself. Especially in the coaching industry where lectures are often stiff and quite overwhelming, Marc rises above any other mentor because he is able to raise the bar in the art of mentorship. He turns ordinary talks into extraordinary dialogues and makes theatrical shows a form of philosophy.

Marc’s definitive goal is to enliven people’s condition as he possibly could to help them become better individuals. He has already spoken in front of thousands of audiences and has lectured on a wide range of subjects which helped his audiences become more esteemed and well-regarded.

Looking beyond black and white: Marc Accetta on living one’s life in full colors

People choose to categorize others with prejudice because it’s convenient for them. Marc Accetta however, does not share this notion. The successful public speaker and life coach believes that there is more to life than just categories. For him, people are filled with vibrant colors that can make life more interesting and dynamic.

From Marc Accetta

Learning to live life in full colors

There is more to this world than just the colors black and white. There are gray areas, for example, where people need to wander to at times when they feel doubtful. Forgetting to see life’s full display of colors is like failing to witness the beauty of a rainbow after an unsettling storm. The adversities are experienced but the sweetness offered afterwards is never tasted. But how can people really live life in full colors?

From Marc Accetta

Marc Accetta’s instructional program called Living in Full Colors was rooted in this very idea. Living in Full Colors suggests that people can be classified in different colors - blue, red, yellow, and green - and each one of them represents a different sense of lifestyle. With the use of the instructional program, people will learn how they function in society and how they can improve in order to harmoniously coexist with others. The program was carefully crafted by Accetta to enlighten those who are looking at life in a dull light.

Viewing from the edge with Marc Accetta: Provide yourself with a new perspective on life

From Marc Accetta

Life can be extremely troublesome at times that people seem to easily lose hope and succumb to fear. Marc Acceta, the renowned public speaker, has a different standpoint. The problems people face should not necessarily drive them to look away and escape. Sometimes people just need to look upon things on a different perspective. Up to now, Marc continues to change lives through this perspective.

Edutainment—this is the tool that Marc uses in order to share his profound thoughts to his listeners. He speaks with humor and wit to easily connect with the people he talks to. By using entertainment to educate, he can convey his message in a manner that captivates his listeners. He keeps the audience engaged through light conversation—a strong testament to how he views life at a different perspective as he discusses heavy life matters in a very light pace.

From Marc Accetta 2

Marc Accetta himself also felt absolutely undetermined at one point of his life. Back in 1982, right after he graduated college with a degree in Political Science, he was not decided as to which path his life would steer to. Following his heart and guts, he tried and ventured in the world of sales. With a mix of perseverance and determination, Marc started to reap success. He began teaching others what he learned from his experiences from the world of sales and from life in general as well.

Marc Accetta: Experience propels personal progress

From Marc Accetta

Marc Accetta is famous for his unique approach in motivating people to excel in their crafts. He employs wit and humor in his trainings and couples them with exquisite stage artistry. However, he was not born possessing this unique gift in communicating with others. He was shy and insecure back when he was a child. But as he matured, he became the person he is today - confident, strong-willed, and successful.

Born and raised in Newton, New Jersey, Marc never thought that one day his job would include standing in front of a large crowd talking about personal development. But his gains from his professional experiences propelled him to do so despite having low esteem when he was younger.

Educated with a degree in Political Science from the Seton Hall University, Marc Accetta never dreamed that he will end up in the sales and marketing industry. His interest though in the field helped him achieve the career development he never expected will cross his way. He learned a lot of things, from direct selling to almost every sales-related business he was involved with. He also successfully penetrated the recruitment and management industries and gained a lot of recognitions for his accomplishments.

From Marc Accetta

Upon success, he ventured into teaching and training. He became a motivational coach to a lot of business enthusiasts who also want to attain the degree of success he has achieved, though not necessarily in the same field. He became a mentor for various professionals and used “edutainment” as his principal tool for teaching. Marc Accetta’s method, by means of performance skits, has been proven effective and has won the trust of his clients. Currently, he is the director of training for the Internet-based travel company, WorldVentures.

Marc is happily married to supportive wife Kelly, who is active in socio-civic activities. He and Kelly also became members of the famous Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance the potential of the youth.

Of Love and Honor: Marc Accetta Salutes Heroes on Memorial Day

From Marc Accetta

In Memory of our Honored Dead

On May 30, 2011, famed motivational speaker Marc Accetta celebrated with the rest of the American community to commemorate the annual Memorial Day. It is a very important event in the country, one that could be traced back to 1865 when the first Star Spangled Banner was unfurled to show appreciation for the Martyrs of the Race Course.

Memorial Day: A History

Freedman founded the event on May 1, 1865 when freed African American slaves decorated the graves of fallen heroes from the civil war with American flags in Charleston, South Carolina. It was then called as “Decoration Day” for obvious reasons. Yet as the years passed and more and more conflicts called for American men to bear arms, the affair took an all-encompassing meaning, giving Americans the chance to salute the fallen who gave the country its freedom.

From Marc Accetta

Marc Acceta says, “Freedom is not free. Someone has to pay for that.” Indeed, many servicemen and servicewomen from the Armed Forces of the United Sates: the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and the Air Force, have laid down their lives so that civilians can enjoy the very blanket of freedom they provide. Marc emphasizes how these soldiers gave up their lives for something bigger than themselves: the freedom of their country, and the security it would bring to their fellowmen.

In celebration of Memorial Day, Accetta released a podcast that applauds the efforts of the soldiers who lost their lives in service to the country. He ends the podcast with, “A group of individuals who believe in one common goal can do remarkable things. As a matter of fact, they could set the world free.”

Why Marc Accetta's "Edutainment" Is Effective

Marc Accetta is not just a motivational speaker, he is also an entertainer – he fuses both characteristics through his unique way of conducting live seminars, which has become known among his followers as “edutainment.” Through this technique, he is able to effectively engage his audience, enabling him to get his message across in a manner not easily forgotten. Most of the people who have attended his seminars often comment that he radiates sincerity and is able to establish a connection with every single member of the audience – an impressive feat, especially since most of his seminars are attended by thousands of people.

From Marc Accetta 2

Marc Accetta portrays characters from different walks of life with the goal of making his audience understand that there are many different ways to achieve personal success, regardless of age, occupation, or social stature. A far cry from the conventional way of conducting seminars wherein the speaker simply speaks in front of his audience, droning on and on about his message, this technique is proven effective as he enables his audience to remember the lessons by providing them with audio-visual markers. Through edutainment, Marc is able to capture his audience’s interest, entertain them (he goes all out with his costumes, props, lighting and stage design, adding to the allure of his technique), and deliver valuable life lessons to remember.

Marc Accetta, the British Phone Booth and the “Who Moved my Cheese” Book

One of Marc Accetta’s daughters urged him to take a picture inside the famous red British phone booth during his first trip to London. He found it odd that he had difficulty finding one, finally spotting only several of these located near the Parliament. Now that almost everyone in the world uses mobile phones, who needs pay phones? Because of change, the pay phone that used to be a staple in cities is now replaced by pocket-sized mobile phones. Who knows that in the future, these little phones that we carry today will become obsolete and be replaced by a more high-tech gadget.

From Marc Accetta

This was pondered upon by Marc Accetta during his search for the phone booth. He came to think about change and how many people try to resist it. As a well-known speaker and life coach, Marc supports the fact that change is the only thing constant in this world and believes that not having the willingness to adapt to change is a fundamental problem. To be able to get ahead of everybody else and succeed, one has to understand that change is a natural part of life.

From Marc Accetta

For those having difficulty accepting change, Marc encourages reading the book “Who Moved my Cheese? An Amazing way to Deal with Change in your Work and in your Life” written by Spencer Johnson. It is a great read not only for adults but also for children since the book is written in the style of a parable, following the journey of two mice and two “little people” in search of cheese.

Marc Accetta Pays It Forward with His Unstoppable Foundation

From Marc Accetta

Living up to the motto “We Create Champions,” Marc Accetta, founder of Marc Accetta Seminars and Director of Training for WorldVentures, gives back and pays it forward to the American youth through the Unstoppable Foundation.

Having lived a blessed and successful life, Marc was encouraged by his wife Kelly to participate and contribute to the cause of the Big Brother Big Sister (BBBS) foundation, the oldest and largest mentoring organization in the country. The foundation aims to provide children with positive relationships that would instill positive traits in them and develop their confidence. The organization's cause has shown positive effects in helping keep the youth in school and away from substance addiction.

From Marc Accetta

Through the foundation, Marc Accetta and his wife took in to their care a boy named William who lost his father to a heart attack at a very young age. The couple has been recognized for their contributions to BBBS that they are now members of the local BBBS Board of Directors at Colin County, TX.

From Marc Accetta

Inspired by their experience with BBBS, the couple established their own organization called the “Unstoppable Foundation.” The foundation desires to equip the youth with fundamental lessons, including money management, character building, and self-confidence to help them realize their dreams.

Marc explains, “We're hoping our schools are teaching these things, but really they're focusing on the book education of our children. And in some of the homes in America, these things are not being taught; parents are not realizing it's their responsibility.”

People: The Zappos Core Element Explained by Marc Accetta

It was during a business and personal development training seminar that Marc Accetta first encountered Tony Hsieh, one of the most highly-regarded online marketing experts worldwide.

From Marc Accetta

Tony Hsieh is the CEO of Zappos, an online clothing and accessory store. Hsieh confessed to Accetta that he was concerned when Amazon showed interest in acquiring Zappos. Besides the company’s sentimental value, Zappos was built through hard work and key values that have been fundamental to the company’s success. These key values are known as The 10 Core Components of Zappos Culture - the guiding force behind every Zappos employee and the basis of every decision made by the company.

From Marc Accetta

The Zappos’ culture emphasizes on one core element: The People. Marc Accetta observes that the culture is built on the company’s high regard for every single member of the Zappos workforce – from executive management down to each and every employee.

Chip Conley’s book “Peak,” is one of Hsieh’s greatest influences. The book was inspired by Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of human needs, which Hsieh had narrowed down to three parts: a job, a career, and a calling. The three parts have served as Hsieh’s guide in focusing on the talents his employees possess and keeping them true to their calling.

After Amazon acquired the company in 2009, Tony continued running Zappos as CEO, making sure that the 10 Core Components are upheld and that the people never lose sight of their calling.

Marc Accetta Shares His Blessings By Playing Big Brother

From Marc Accetta

Marc Accetta has been blessed in life, with a successful career as a globally acclaimed motivational speaker, and a loving, supportive family. As a way of giving back and sharing his life’s blessings to those who need it, he and his wife Kelly are involved in the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps children reach their full potential through one-to-one relationships with mentors that aim to have a positive impact on youth.

Marc’s “little brother” is William Timmerman, one of the five children in the Timmerman household. In 2001, William lost his father – his heart suddenly stopped. Mr. Timmerman was revived, but died eleven days later due to an irreparable damage to his heart caused by a recent bout with the flu virus. Marc Accetta, together with this family, helped him get over his grief and get his life back on track.

From Marc Accetta

Before the Accetta family came along and shortly after his father’s death, William and his siblings felt neglected because their mother had to work long hours to make both ends meet. William started suffering from anxiety attacks, and became withdrawn and quiet. He even had an imaginary friend named Fred. Thankfully, with the organization’s help, Marc’s positive influence, and the love and support from the Accetta family, William grew with confidence and self-assurance.

Edutainment: Why People Listen to Marc Accetta

Marc Accetta is not just another unoriginal motivational speaker. He does not charge thousands of listeners for fees to shows making speeches that are no different from what other self help mentors come out with every year. He does not release self actualization books touting paradigms other success coaches have coined long before, or sling out catch phrases used countless times already by other inspirational gurus.

More people being edutained

Most other inspirational speakers prefer to coast along the highway of life coaching without touching the life of even one listener, instead filling their audience’s heads with the kind of useless data found in fortune cookies. Good thing Marc Accetta isn’t that kind of guy. In fact, he is the most passionate, most committed, most inspiring success coach out there today. Next to Marc Accetta, scam mongering life coaches are exposed for the phony mantras they preach. With his unique brand of “edutainment,” a technique that infuses lessons with fun to keep audiences engaged, Marc Accetta has opened people’s minds toward personal achievement and changed thousands of lives for the better.

Marc as a hockey player

In his signature live seminar “View from the Edge” Marc Accetta plays characters from all walks of life (a football player, a judge, even tennis player Roger Federer) to illustrate the many different approaches to personal success. With his audience fully engaged, Marc Accetta drives home key points in a way that moves them completely.
